Description
The Supermicro H8QGi+-F serverboard is built on the AMD SR5690/SP5100 chipset, designed as a Media and Communications Processor (MCP). Key features of this chipset include a 42-lane PCI Express interface, a 16-bit Hyper Transport interface link, six SATA ports, and seven USB 2.0 ports, all directly connected to the CPU. HyperTransport technology significantly enhances communication speed between integrated circuits by reducing bottlenecks and optimizing memory use.
The Supermicro H8QGi+-F serverboard boasts PC health monitoring capabilities, including voltage monitoring with adjustable thresholds, fan RPM monitoring with thermal control, and a CPU overheat/fan fail warning system. Additionally, it features a 6-phase-switching voltage regulator for CPU cores, ensuring stable system operation.
Power configuration settings include Microsoft OnNow support for instant responsiveness to user requests, a Suspend-State Indicator LED, BIOS support for USB keyboards during boot-up, and a Main Switch Override Mechanism for system suspension and wake-up. Wake-On-LAN (WOL) functionality enables remote power-up, enhancing remote management capabilities.
For reliable operation, the Supermicro H8QGi+-F serverboard requires proprietary power supplies and recommends the use of line filters and power surge protectors in areas with noisy power transmission. The Super I/O component integrates various functions, reducing the need for additional components. It includes two high-speed UARTs, compliance with ACPI power management, and flexibility to meet ISA PnP requirements for IRQs, DMAs, and I/O space resources.
